Bong Revilla files counter-affidavit on flood control charges
Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Wednesday, Dec. 10, his counter-affidavit on the charges against him in the “ghost” flood control projects in Bulacan.
Revilla has been included in one of the five cases under investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Charges in the cases are for graft and malversation of public funds through falsification of public documents.
Lawyer Francesca Senga, Revilla’s spokesperson, said the former senator submitted proof that “the allegations, accusations and all the complaints against him are all lies.”
Senga said that Revilla expressed hopes that the DOJ will be fair, will look at the evidence, and will not file cases in court.
The projects under DOJ investigation were those in the towns of Pandi and Balagtas in Bulacan.
Revilla was included as additional respondent in the charges.
Earlier, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said that charges of plunder and malversation of public funds are being eyed against Revilla in the flood control “anomalies.”
Remulla even hinted that Revilla may be placed behind bars next week.
Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary Roberto Bernardo implicated Revilla. Bernardo alleged that he delivered P125 million to the residence of Revilla in December 2024.
Bernardo claimed that the money was placed in six cardboard boxes, with each containing at least P20 million. Another P250 million was reportedly delivered to Revilla’s residence by Bernardo's aide just before the 2025 elections.
Revilla had denied Bernardo’s allegations.
