2 soldiers killed in Samar gunfight

TACLOBAN CITY – Two soldiers were killed in an encounter on Wednesday, Dec. 3, with the New People’s Army in Barangay Babaclayon, San Jose de Buan town, Samar province.
The fatalities were two technical sergeants under the 81st Military Intelligence Company.
Troops were conducting intelligence operations when they engaged members of Squad 3/Salibad, Yakal Platoon, Sub-Regional Committee Browser, Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee.
They were taken to the Paranas, Samar Rural Health Unit where they were declared dead.
A 10-year-old boy was reportedly wounded during the encounter.
