The Manila City government continued the release of cash allowances for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and solo parents as part of its continuing social assistance program to support thousands of residents across the city.
The local government said that they will distribute P72,096,100 in allowances covering July and Aug. 2025, starting from Dec. 11 to 13, benefiting 56,870 PWDs and 15,880 solo parents.
It added that payouts are meant to help ease the daily financial burden faced by vulnerable sectors, especially amid rising living costs.
The city government reiterated its commitment to sustain welfare programs that deliver immediate and practical support to residents who need assistance the most, emphasizing that no Manileño should be left behind.
“Tayo man ay gipit na gipit sa pananalapi, hindi tayo titigil sa paghahanap ng paraan para kahit papaano ay makabawas man lang sa obligasyon (Even though we are facing serious financial constraints, we will not stop finding ways to ease the burden of our obligations),” it said.
“Alam namin na hindi madali ang araw-araw na laban ninyo—kaya pumanatag kayo: nandito ang inyong pamahalaan para maghatid ng diretsong tulong at tunay na suporta. Kaagapay niyo po kami sa bawat hakbang (We know that your daily struggles are not easy—so take heart: your government is here to deliver direct assistance and genuine support. We stand with you every step of the way),” it added.
Earlier, the city government announced that it will also release allowances for public school teachers and non-teaching personnel, as well as distribute laptops and television sets to public schools to strengthen learning delivery and classroom resources.
