According to the city’s Public Information Office, the distribution was carried out to support the welfare of PDLs and reassure their families that their needs are being addressed.
The local government said the well-being of all sectors in the city, including those in detention, remains a priority.
It added that the city will continue ensuring proper conditions and support systems for PDLs and their families.
On Nov. 6, inmates staged a protest over complaints involving food, visitation concerns, and the warden’s management.
A relative earlier said these issues prompted the noise barrage.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval immediately visited the facility with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) regional officials to speak with inmates and look into their grievances.
“Prayoridad po natin ang kapakanan ng lahat dito sa Malabon, ano man ang sektor na kinabibilangan (The welfare of everyone in Malabon is our priority, no matter their sector),” she said.
“Kaya't sisiguruhin po natin ang maayos na kalagayan ng bawat isang PDL maging ng kanilang mga pamilya (We will ensure proper conditions for every PDL and their families),” Sandoval added.
