Priest found dead in Cebu City condo

CEBU CITY – Police are investigating the death of a priest who was found dead in a condominium here on Wednesday morning, Nov. 12.

Police said Fr. Decoroso Jurban Olmilla, 68, bore external wounds when he was discovered in a condominium unit in Barangay Mabolo at 10:40 a.m.

Police Major Eric Gingoyon, chief of the Mabolo Police Station, said police rushed to the condominium unit after receiving a report that a wounded man was found there.

Police said the priest was no longer breathing when responders arrived. The priest was found bathed in blood with a wound in the neck.

Police are investigating if there was foul play in his death.

Two men are in police custody for investigation, said Gingoyon.

The Archdiocese of Cebu mourned the priest’s passing.

“May the Lord receive His faithful sercan into His eternal embrace and may those who mourn find comfort in the promise of Christ’s resurrection and everlasting life,” the Archdiocese said in a statement.
