Pasig City Council named most improved local government by DILG

The Pasig City Government on Tuesday, Nov. 4, received seven awards from the Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) for exemplary governance and public service, with its city council cited as most improved local government unit (LGU).
The following awards were given during the DILG-NCR annual Urban Governance Exemplar Awards held at Novotel in Quezon City:
• Ideal Functionality | Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Performance Year 2024
• Highly Functional | Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) 2025 Functionality Audit
• Moderately Compliant | Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program (MBCPRP) Local Government Unit Compliance Assessment
• Significant and Invaluable Partner in Advancing the Shared Vision of a Safe, Secure, and Drug-Free NCR | Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council
• First in the National Capital Region to Localize "Tangguyob" | Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office
• 2025 Local Legislative Awards – Exemplary Performance | 11th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pasig
• 2025 Local Legislative Awards – Most Improved Local Government Unit | 11th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pasig
The awards were received by Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski; Councilors Angelu De Leon and Volta delos Santos; City Social Welfare and Development Office Head Teresa Briones; Pasig City Anti-Drug Abuse Office Head Zenaida Concepcion; Sangguniang Panglungsod Secretariat Head Lawyer Nicolo Gutierrez; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Head Bryant Wong and Research and Planning Division Head Aaron Omaña; representatives from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office; and DILG-Pasig City Director Visitacion Martinez, CESO V.
The local government said the recognitions reflect the dedication of its officials and staff to continuously improving the standards of good governance in the city.
“Higit sa pagkilala, magsisilbing inspirasyon ang mga ito para mas pagbutihin pa ang paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko sa lungsod, para sa mga Pasigueño (Beyond recognition, they serve as an inspiration to further improve public service delivery for all Pasigueños),” it added.
“Ang mga tagumpay na ito ng Pamahaalaang Lungsod ay tagumpay rin ng bawat Pasigueño! Congratulations sa lahat! (The city government’s achievements are also a shared success of every Pasigueño. Congratulations to all),” it continued.
The Urban Governance Exemplar Awards (UGEA) is the flagship awards program of DILG–NCR, established to recognize and celebrate the exemplary performance and outstanding execution of mandates by LGUs in the region.
