NBI will not fight 'today's crimes with yesterday's tools' – OIC Magno
“We will modernize our capabilities through training, technology and teamwork so no agent will fight today’s crimes with yesterday’s tools,” declared National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Officer-in-Charge Lito Magno.
He said the NBI will advance the digital justice initiative to modernize case management and forensic processes.
He also said the bureau will strengthen the NBI Academy of Excellence to raise not only competent but also compassionate investigators.
He assured: “We will take care of our people. The NBI’s greatest asset, aside from its mandate, is its own men and women. When we protect those who serve, we will protect the nation with pride.”
At the same time, Magno said he will bring the bureau closer to the people. “We will listen, engage and stand beside communities because justice is strongest when it is shared,” he also said.
During the turnover ceremony, former NBI director Jaime Santiago, whose resignation has been accepted by President Marcos, said: “I am turning over the bureau to the good hands of Lito.”
