Aida’s Chicken, located on the lower ground floor of Makati Cinema Square at 2130 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City, was recognized just last night, Oct. 30, at the unveiling of the first Michelin Guide Philippines 2026. The restaurant was named one of the 74 Michelin Selected restaurants in the country, a category that honors establishments for their overall quality and consistency.
According to the Michelin Guide, Aida’s Chicken may look modest, but it has quietly earned a loyal following over the years. Its Bacolod-style chicken inasal is praised for its smoky flavor and tenderness. Grilled to order, it remains a highlight for poultry lovers and well worth the wait.
The restaurant’s traditional Filipino comfort food showcases dishes from across the country. Among them is the Ilonggo-style squash cooked in coconut milk, described as smooth, subtly aromatic, and heartwarming.
Aida’s Chicken joins a diverse group of restaurants recognized for elevating Filipino dining. Alongside the 74 Michelin Selected awardees, Gallery by Chele was also honored with a Michelin Green Star for its commitment to mindful and sustainable gastronomy, while Josh Boutwood's Helm has earned the highest Michelin recognition in the Philippines – a two star award.
With its new recognition, this enduring canteen in Makati continues to show that great food often comes from the most unassuming places.
