Pares Batchoy Food House, located at 12 C. Rodriguez Street in Cebu City, was awarded just last night, Oct. 30, at the unveiling of the first Michelin Guide Philippines 2026. The restaurant was among 25 establishments recognized with the Bib Gourmand distinction, an award given to places that serve high-quality food at reasonable prices.
Since opening in 2023, this unpretentious spot has earned a loyal following for its Filipino, family-style cooking made with care and consistency. The casual dining area, with its wooden tables and photo-lined walls, sets the stage for comforting, familiar flavors that speak of home.
Among the standouts is the signature pares batchoy, a stewed beef noodle soup rich with depth and flavor. Other favorites include the tangy sinigang na hipon, made with tamarind broth and prawns, and seared stuffed bangus, a delicate milkfish dish prepared with precision.
Service remains warm and approachable, with an illustrated menu that encourages sharing among families and friends.
With its new Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition, Pares Batchoy Food House brings pride to Cebu’s dining scene, proving that simple, heartfelt cooking can earn a place on the world stage.
