Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin want to join EXO's comeback

K-pop artists and EXO-CBX members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin have expressed their desire to join EXO in the much-awaited comeback starting in December. 

The three, who belong to the EXO-CBX subunit, were excluded when SM Entertainment announced that EXO would hold a fan meeting in December and release an album next year. 

Only six people are part of the plan, the agency said.  

“Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Lay will be participating in the EXO'verse Fanmeeting,” according to the announcement on Oct. 27..

SM Entertainment, EXO’s agency, and EXO-CBX are embroiled in a court case about their contract and payment. 

INB100, the agency of Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin for their individual activities, released a statement on Oct. 29. 

“We deeply apologize for the confusion and concern caused to fans by the recent delay in announcing EXO-CBX's position regarding EXO’s full group promotions,” the agency said. 

It added, “INB100 and our artists Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (hereafter ‘CBX’) promised fans that as EXO members, they would promote as a full group and are making every effort to achieve this.”

Here’s the rest of INB100’s statement: 

“We would like to inform you of the progress made so far.

“1. July 9, 2025 - Confirmation of initial agreement with SM Entertainment (hereafter SM).  For EXO's full group activities, we met directly with SM and confirmed the direction and intent of the agreement.

“2. September 10, 2025 - Mutual sharing of detailed agreement. The two parties have entered the substantive negotiation stage, exchanging detailed agreement details. 

“3. Full acceptance of SM's demands - After the second mediation date (October 2), EXO-CBX clearly communicated their intention to reach an agreement, accepting all of SM's conditions for a full EXO comeback at the end of the year.

“4. Schedule adjustments prioritizing EXO activities - We cleared all personal schedules in December to focus on full EXO activities and awaited SM's final response through our legal representative.

“While we were making these efforts for full EXO activities, we came across an announcement regarding an EXO fan meeting and full album release, excluding EXO-CBX.

“We apologize for the delay in responding due to the unexpected circumstances and needing to confirm SM's intentions regarding the progress of the agreement.

“The members of EXO-CBX have chosen the path of agreement because they have valued the sincerity of their long-time fans above all else and have earnestly desired EXO's full group activities.

“Accordingly, we plan to reach an agreement for full group activities as soon as possible.

“We thank our fans for their continued trust and patience, and we will do our best to achieve a positive outcome. We ask for your continued support and encouragement.”
