Korean agency SM Entertainment announced K-pop boy band EXO's fan meeting and comeback album but three members are excluded.
The EXO'verse Fanmeeting will be held on Dec. 13 and 14 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea.
Only six members of EXO will be participating in the fan meeting.
“Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Lay will be participating in the EXO'verse Fanmeeting,” according to the announcement on Oct. 27.
EXO-CBX members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin are excluded from the fan meeting and new album, Korean media reported. SM Entertainment and CBX members are currently embroiled in a court case over contracts and payment. Two mediation hearings between the two parties failed.
The exclusion of EXO-CBX angered fans who slammed SM Entertainment for the decision.
“We tolerated Lay's absence for specific reasons, we tolerated the members' absence due to military service, But we never tolerate their absence for no reason. EXO is 9. No less, no more,” one fan commented on EXO’s announcement on X.
These are the other comments:
- “EXO IS NINE !!!!! CBX IS EXO !!!! WHERE IS CBX !!??? @SMTOWNGLOBAL LET THEM JOINNNNN !!!! WE ARE MAD RIGHT NOW”
- “This is not the WE ARE ONE that you use to telling us honestly, it is no longer you broke the promise and broke our hearts with, years of waiting have been in vain”
- “Our hearts broke all over again. We’ve waited for years patiently, faithfully counting the days until they all finish their enlistment, dreaming of the moment we’d see you together again on one stage. But now, it feels like that dream is slipping away”
- “Don’t even think about announcing a comeback without CBX!! EXO is nine!!”
- “ALL EXO OR NOTHING!! We don’t support selective OT9. CBX ARE EXO TOO. SM can’t silence fans who actually remember the truth. #WeWantCBX #EXO9Forever”
