BACOLOD CITY – A six-year-old boy was killed in an encounter between the military and the New People’s Army in Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental province on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo has visited the remains of the victim and extended financial assistance to his family.
Yulo said the victim was a Grade 1 pupil.
The Philippine Army has yet to disclose additional details about the gun battle. Police are probing the incident.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWDO) said that the local government will shoulder the funeral and burial of the victim.
His family will be subject to debriefing over the traumatic incident.
