NPD vows transparency in probe of detained police officer

The Northern Police District (NPD) reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability as it investigates a police officer who was taken into custody following an inspection at a district detention facility.
In a statement on Monday, Oct. 27, the NPD said the operation was conducted after an internal verification and accounting procedure uncovered findings that prompted immediate legal and administrative action.
The district leadership assured the public that the matter is being handled with full transparency and due process, in coordination with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and other concerned units.
“Appropriate charges will be filed upon completion of the investigation,” the NPD said.
The NPD emphasized that it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discipline within its ranks.
“Any misconduct or violation of police principles will not be condoned and will be dealt with accordingly,” it added.
The investigation stemmed from an operation that led to the arrest of a police lieutenant colonel after a detainee was found missing during an inspection at the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) Detention Facility in Caloocan City.
