Suspect arrested; five persons, 4 of them minors, rescued from online sexual abuse, exploitation in Caloocan City
A person has been arrested and five individuals, four of them minors, have been rescued from online sexual abuse and exploitation activities in Caloocan City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
In a statement, the NBI did not disclose the name of the suspect and those rescued.
It said the arrest was done during the service of a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) at the suspect’s premises in Caloocan City.
During the search, the NBI operatives recovered several devices and after a live preview conducted by NBI-DFL (NBI-Digital Forensics Laboratory), the examiners immediately confirmed the presence of various CSAEM (child sexual abuse or exploitation materials) depicting sexual acts.
It also said rescue operations were done simultaneously in Caloocan City in coordination with the city’s Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
A separate team was dispatched to Rodriguez, Rizal, where they successfully rescued another minor victim in coordination with the Municipal SWDO.
The NBI said it acted on the Aug. 18 referral it received from the Dutch National Police that was coursed through the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC).
“This referral concerned a certain individual believed to be engaged in the production and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM),” it also said.
After investigation, the location of the suspect was determined.
