Jobless man yields kush, liquid marijuana in buy-bust

CEBU CITY – Suspected marijuana kush and liquid marijuana were seized from a 26-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Hipodromo here.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) and operatives of the Cebu City Police Station 4 cornered the suspect, identified as a certain Harvey, at the Cebu Business Park around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.
Among the items seized during the operation were several disposable vapes and cartridges containing brown liquid suspected to be liquid marijuana valued at P859,200.
Also seized were marijuana kush weighing around 25 grams and valued at around P30,000.
The pieces of drug evidence have been submitted to the PDEA-7 Regional Office Laboratory for chemical analysis and proper disposition, said Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7.
Alcantara said that according to the agency’s laboratory and operations divisions, it is not very often that anti-illegal drug operations would yield liquid marijuana.
A follow-up investigation is underway to identify the suspect’s source of liquid marijuana.
“Accordingly, the suspect is not cooperative during the interview but the investigation continues,” Alcantara said.
Based on information, the suspect’s patrons were call center agents. The suspect would sell five to 10 pieces of vape a week, Alcantara said.
The PDEA-7 warned that sale of dangerous drugs, regardless of quantity and quality, carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of P500,000 to P10 million.
