CEBU CITY – A driver of a ride-hailing app was believed to have been robbed before he was killed by his passenger in Barangay Kalunasan here on Sunday morning, Oct. 12.
Dexter Nanong Dandan, 48, was found slumped on the ground with multiple stab wounds in the abdomen.
Police said a 17-year-old resident was the first to discover the body at 7:56 a.m.
Police recovered a knife and a cellphone but the victim’s motorcycle was taken by the culprit.
Police Capt. Charisma Gonzales, information officer of the Cebu City Police Office, said robbery could be the motive of the crime after the victim’s motorcycle was commandeered.
Gonzales said investigators from the Guadalupe Police station and City Investigation and Detection Unit are already pursuing “a person of interest.”
Gonzales said some residents saw the victim with a passenger whose face was not clearly seen due to the helmet he was wearing.
The victim was identified by his live-in partner who arrived at the crime scene, police said.
