Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary denied rumors that she is being considered to be the next Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary.
In a Palace briefing on Wednesday, Oct. 8, Castro said she did not even know where the rumors came from.
"Unang-una po, hindi po natin alam kung saan nagsimula iyan so wala pong katotohanan iyan (First of all, we do not know where it came from, so there is no truth to that)," Castro said.
Shortly after President Marcos appointed Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla as the new Ombudsman on Tuesday, Oct. 7, the rumor that Castro would be the next DOJ chief started circulating online.
Asked if she would accept the position if it would be offered to her by the President, she refused to answer.
"Hypothetical question, I cannot answer," she said.
