Sta. Ana fire leaves 1 dead, 14 families affected


One person died while around 14 families were left homeless after a fire broke out on A. Francisco Street, Sta. Ana Manila on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9. 

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the victim is a 2-year-old child while a 27-year-old individual sustained minor burns on both arms. 

The fire was raised to 1st alarm at around 10:55 a.m. and escalated to 2nd alarm at around 10:56 a.m. 

The fire was raised to 3rd alarm at around 11:09 a.m. and was declared under control at around 11:35 a.m. 

The blaze was extinguished at around 11:50 a.m.

Arson investigators estimated that the fire caused around P1,200.000.00 in damages.

Probers are still investigating the cause of the fire.
