An ideal destination to celebrate the Lunar New Year

From feasts to festivities, Newport World Resorts welcomes the Year of the Snake with style and tradition

As the Lunar New Year approaches, Newport World Resorts in Pasay City is preparing to celebrate with a blend of culinary offerings and traditional performances. Spanning multiple venues, the events aim to honor cultural traditions while showcasing the resort’s diverse dining options.

Culinary experiences to celebrate the season
Dining takes center stage during the festivities, with restaurants across the resort featuring menus crafted for the occasion. At Happy 8, guests can enjoy an eight-course Lunar New Year set menu priced at P25,722 for six to eight people. The menu includes dishes such as steamed whole grouper, wok-fried chicken with salted egg, and shrimp toast. A more traditional option, Yee Sang—a Chinese New Year staple believed to bring good luck—is also available for P1,236 for 10 people.

Man Ho at Marriott Manila offers Poon Choi, a dish often called a “Chinese casserole,” featuring roasted duck, seafood, and vegetables layered in a single pot. Other highlights include Hotel Okura Manila’s Yawaragi restaurant, which will host a Lunar New Year-themed buffet on Jan. 28 and 29, and Hilton Manila’s Hua Yuan Brasserie Chinoise, where a Grand Fortune Set menu for 10 is priced at P148,888. The menu features Yee Sang, black truffle chicken fried rice, and double-boiled pork spareribs with Japanese conpoy.

A showcase of cultural performances
Traditional performances will complement the culinary festivities. Lion dances, projection light shows, and Chinese musical performances are scheduled for Jan. 28 and 29. Guests can also enjoy face-changing acts, Monkey King reenactments, and traditional dances such as the umbrella, ribbon, and lantern dances from Feb. 1 to 9.

For those seeking a getaway, Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City is offering a Lunar New Year staycation package starting at P4,000, including breakfast and access to performances.

Traditional sweets and gifts
Newport World Resorts also offers tikoy, festive hampers, and sweet pastries for those looking to share the prosperity of the season. Happy 8’s tikoy is priced at P600, while Man Ho features koi-shaped tikoy sets starting at P988. Hua Yuan presents curated hampers, including a Deluxe Hamper priced at P9,888, which includes tikoy, truffle chocolate, and tea sets.
