Motorists are being advised to expect heavy traffic along major thoroughfares in Manila due to the ongoing National Rally for Peace of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) at the Quirino Grandstand, Monday, Jan. 13.
The local government of Manila issued an early traffic advisory, outlining a traffic scheme to manage the anticipated large crowd attending the event at the Quirino Grandstand.
As of 4 p.m., the crowd remained at 1.5 million as the program officially began, with attendees stretching as far as Delpan Street and Recto Avenue, approximately three kilometers from the Quirino Grandstand.
The INC has expressed its apologies for the inconvenience caused to motorists due to their program.
However, they emphasized that the mass gathering aims to promote peace and unity among all Filipinos.
