Road closures, re-routing for National Rally for Peace on Jan. 13

Several roads in Manila will be closed to traffic for the "National Rally for Peace" organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand on Monday, Jan. 13. 

Motorists are advised to take note of the following road closures and re-routing details to avoid inconvenience.

Road Closures

Starting at 4 a.m. on Jan. 13, the following roads will be closed:

  • Katigbak Drive and South Drive
  • Independence Road
  • North and South Bound of Roxas Blvd. (from Katigbak Drive to U.N. Ave.)
  • North and South Bound of Bonifacio Drive (from Katigbak Drive to Anda Circle)
  • P. Burgos Ave. (from Victoria St. to Roxas Blvd.)
  • Ma. Orosa St. (from P. Burgos Ave. to U.N. Ave.)
  • Finance Rd. (from P. Burgos Ave. to Taft Ave.)
  • Gen. Luna Roundtable
  • Kalaw Ave. (from Taft Ave. to Roxas Blvd.)

Vehicle Re-routing

Motorists are encouraged to follow the alternative routes outlined below:

  • Vehicles coming from the Southbound lane of Roxas Blvd., A. Mabini St., and Ma. Orosa St. intending to utilize Kalaw Ave. must turn right to U.N. Ave. towards their point of destination.
  • All trucks and trailers traveling Northbound from Osmeña Highway to Mel Lopez Blvd. (Pier Area) are advised to turn right to Pres. Quirino Ave., continue to Mabini Bridge, and proceed to their destination.
  • Vehicles coming from Ayala Blvd. intending to use Finance Road straight to P. Burgos Ave. should turn left to Taft Ave. to reach their destination.
  • Vehicles coming from the 3 Bridges (Jones, MacArthur, and Quezon Bridge) intending to use P. Burgos Ave. towards Roxas Blvd. should take Lagusnilad straight to Taft Ave. to reach their destination.
  • Vehicles coming from Sta. Lucia St. to Muralla St. intending to use the Gen. Luna Roundtable should proceed straight to Muralla St. to their destination.
  • Vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Blvd. intending to use Bonifacio Drive must take Anda Circle and turn right to Soriano Ave. to continue their journey.
  • All trailer trucks/heavy vehicles from Mel Lopez Blvd. (R-10) heading towards Roxas Blvd. should turn left to Capulong St., proceed to Yuseco St., then to Lacson Ave. (Old truck route) to their destination.

Parking Plan

Parking restrictions will be implemented in the following areas:

  • Two lanes on the inner side of Roxas Blvd. from U.N. Ave. to P. Ocampo St.
  • Two lanes on the inner side of Mel Lopez Blvd. from Anda Circle to NLEX Connector City limit.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and follow traffic management instructions to ensure smooth travel during the event.
