Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado on Friday, Jan. 10, vowed to modernize the bureau "to meet global standards while prioritizing the needs of Filipinos."
Viado's assurance was made as he finished his 100 days in office as head of the agency.
He said the BI will uphold the vision ‘“Bagong Immigration towards a Bagong Pilipinas.”
“Bagong Immigration is not just a vision; it is our pledge to serve the nation with excellence and integrity,” he also said.
“Together, we will move towards the President's vision of a Bagong Pilipinas," he declared.
To achieve the vision, Viado said the BI will push a seven-point agenda that focuses on enhancing border security, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and modernizing immigration laws to ensure efficient and reliable processes.
“By investing in digital transformation, we aim to simplify processes for travelers and stakeholders while ensuring transparency and accountability,” he said.
“This is our commitment to delivering a Bureau that Filipinos can truly rely on," he stressed.
At the same time, Viado assured the bureau's commitment to provide training and career growth opportunities to personnel which will inspire them to perform better.
