Despite Super Typhoon "Nando" exiting the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said it remains on full alert and is fully prepared to respond to any emergency.

EPD Director Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante said the EPD Search and Rescue Team remains fully prepared, with all Search and Rescue (SAR) equipment carefully inspected and verified to ensure operational readiness at all times.
"Handa at nakaantabay ang Search and Rescue Team ng Eastern Police District para tumugon anumang oras sa posibleng epekto ng Bagyong Nando (The Eastern Police District’s Search and Rescue Team is on standby and ready to respond at any time to the possible effects of Typhoon Nando),” Lagradante said on Tuesday.
“Sisiguraduhin po namin ang kahandaan ng lahat ng kagamitan at ng aming mga kapulisan upang mapangalagaan ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan. Hinihiling din po namin ang ibayong pag-iingat at pakikiisa ng lahat para mapaghandaan ang posibleng pananalanta ng bagyong ito (We will ensure the readiness of all equipment and our police personnel to safeguard the safety of every citizen. We also ask for everyone’s utmost caution and cooperation in preparing for the possible impact of this typhoon),” he added.
In addition, the police stations in Pasig, Marikina, Mandaluyong, and San Juan are on standby, ready to deploy personnel in case of an emergency.
The EPD added that close coordination has been established with the Local Government Units (LGUs), particularly with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (CDRRMOs), to ensure unified disaster response operations and the safety of all communities.
