P34-M 'fake' Louis Vuitton products seized in Bulacan -- NBI
Suspected counterfeit products of luxury brand Louis Vuitton worth about P34 million have been seized by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bulacan.
In a statement, the NBI said the seizure was done as its Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD) served two search warrants in Malolos City and Meycauayan City last Sept. 8.
“The operations resulted in the seizure of 391 counterfeit “Louis Vuitton”/ “LV” products with an estimated value of more or less P34,979,052,” it said.
It also said the NBI-IPRD acted on the complaint of Mayank Vaid on behalf of his client Louis Vuitton.
The complainant alleged that the establishments in Malolos City and Meycauayan City violated Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
The NBI did not disclose the names of the owners of the establishments or if they were arrested and charges were filed against them.
