CEBU CITY – The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is 100 percent ready for the Bar examinations here.
Police Col. Enrico Figueroa, chief of the CCPO, said security preparations are in place for the exams that will be held at the University of San Jose Recoletos Basak Campus on Sept. 7, 10, and 14.
“We have been preparing for this for the past few months. We are 100 percent ready,” said Figueroa.
The security preparations were done in coordination with the Office of the Judiciary Marshals.
Figueroa said 80 policemen backed by 20 civilian force multipliers will be deployed in and outside the university campus, which will host around 1,300 examinees.
A police assistance desk will be put up at the testing venue.
Deployment of security personnel will start on Saturday midnight, Sept. 6.
Figueroa said all regulations to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Bar will be enforced.
Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. has issued an Executive Order (EO) enforcing a 100-meter liquor ban zone around the university.
Under the EO, alcohol consumption will be prohibited in all public areas within the perimeter. Commercial establishments will also not be allowed to serve liquors during the ban.
