CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police arrested Caraga region’s most wanted person after 10 years of hiding in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur province on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old suspect was a former political instructor of Section Committee 14 of the CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer, chief of the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13), said.
“He was hiding for 10 years, but did not resist arrest when cornered by pursuing police force at his house,” Ometer said.
The suspect was apprehended on a warrant of issued by a Bayugan City court for murder, multiple attempted murder, and kidnapping and serious illegal detention, with no bail recommended.
He was also allegedly involved in two crimes in Bayugan City – a shooting incident in Barangay Pinagalaan on Nov. 18, 2014, and an alleged kidnapping in Barangay Grace Estate on Dec. 17, 2014.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV commended the arrest of the suspect.
“We are firm in our resolve to bring fugitives of the law before the court so they may answer the crimes they have committed. Justice must prevail.”
