Palace on netizens exposing lavish lifestyle of contractors' kids: That's what Marcos wants
Filipinos exposing the luxurious lifestyle of children of some contractors included in President Marcos' list was actually viewed as heeding to the chief executive's call to help in uncovering corrupt practices.

Some of the kids of contractors revealed by Marcos as the top companies implementing 20 percent of the country's flood control projects have been under fire, mainly on social media, for flaunting their lavish lifestyle.
This move, Malacañang said, was actually in favor of the President's call to the public to join in the government's effort to expose corrupt activities, which he has encouraged since launching the Sumbong sa Pangulo website barely three weeks ago.
"Iyon naman din po talaga ang naisin ng Pangulong Marcos Jr. na lahat-lahat po tayo ay magtulungan upang masawata itong mga korapsyon na ito (That is truly the wish of President Marcos Jr.—that all of us work together to put a stop to these corruption practices)," Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a briefing on Friday, Aug. 29.
"At hindi lamang po ang gobyerno, ang pamahalaan ang dapat kumilos kung hindi ang taumbayan na nakakaalam ng mga nangyayari sa paligid nila (And it should not only be the government that takes action, but also the people who are aware of what is happening around them)," Castro added.
The President has been constantly encouraging the public to report to him through the website dedicated to receive reports on anomalous and problematic flood-control projects in their areas.
"So, mas maganda po talagang isumbong nila sa Pangulo itong mga ganitong klaseng insidente at kondisyon (So, it would really be better for them to report these kinds of incidents and situations to the President)," Castro also said.
As of Aug. 27, a total of 9,020 reports in relation to flood-control projects have been lodged through the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.
This week, the Palace has once again made an assurance that no one will be spared, even those who are close to Marcos, in the investigation.
