The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night, Aug. 17, while the victim and the two suspects, her senior non-commissioned officers (NCOs), were on duty.
Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante, Eastern Police District (EPD) director, said the victim claimed that the incident took place inside a parked police vehicle, where the suspects allegedly touched her private part.
WCPC acting chief Brig. Gen. Maria Sheila Portento said the agency condemned the incident, calling it a grave violation of women’s rights and dignity.
“The PNP stands resolute against all forms of workplace crimes, especially sexual harassment. Every employee deserves respect, safety, and dignity," she said.
"There is no place in the PNP—or in any society for those who commit violence against women and children," Portento added.
She encouraged everyone to speak out, hold offenders accountable, and work together to end harassment.
“A safe workplace is everyone's right, and together, we will protect it," she emphasized.
Currently, the two police officers are under restrictive custody, while the victim has been referred for psychosocial support.
