Highly politicized Vice Ganda has enriched his comedy acts with satirical comments on government and the present-day way of life. The last stand-up comedy actress who engaged (enraged) the public in the art of satire is Tessie Tomas, essaying an imeldific role as Meldita in the late 80s and 1990s. Vice Ganda is to the manner born. He has a college degree in Political Science from FEU.

Just like Sylvia La Torre in the 1960s, Roderick Paulate maintains a no-kissing-scene policy when doing movies.
The late singer-comedienne was known for her Dalagang Pilipina no-touch stance whenever she performed. Roderick, on the other hand, says he warns his producers, then and now, not to engage him in kissing scenes, more so, bed scenes, for a purpose.
“I want children to be able to watch my movies,” he told the media con Aug. 5 in Quezon City. “GP (General Patronage) ako ever since.”
Dick has long mastered the art of making Filipinos laugh, and he shares this gift once again in Mudrasta, a CreaZion Studios release opening Aug. 20.

"Mudrasta" tells the story of Victor “Beki” Labrador (Paulate), who tries to reconnect with a past love, Enrique (Gutierrez), only to discover Enrique has passed away, leaving him half of his estate. On one condition: Beki must move into Enrique’s mansion and live with his two orphaned children and their stern grandmother (Celia).
What follows is a funny journey as Beki confronts the past and tries to win over a family that wants nothing but to get rid of him.
