Sweet arrival: Läderach Swiss chocolatier coming soon to SM Mall of Asia
The famed Swiss brand, known for its fresh chocolate slabs and pralines, is preparing to open its first store in the Philippines.
A new destination for chocolate lovers is coming to SM Mall of Asia. The mall announced on its official Facebook page that Läderach, the Swiss chocolatier, will open in September 2025.
The post features a storefront covered with Läderach-branded panels, an image of the company’s chocolates, and the message “Coming Soon September 2025.” The caption invites customers to “be tempted by luxurious hand-crafted creations, irresistible FrischSchoggi, and the unmistakable taste of Swiss perfection.”
Founded in 1962 in Glarus, Switzerland, Läderach began as a family-owned business under Rudolf Läderach Jr. The company became known for creating a process that improved the production of thin chocolate shells for truffles, setting a new standard for texture and flavor.
Its most popular product, FrischSchoggi, which means “fresh chocolate” in Swiss German, was launched in 2004. These large chocolate slabs are made in Switzerland and broken into pieces for sale, available in flavors with nuts, fruits, and other toppings. The brand also offers pralines, truffles, and seasonal creations.
