Malacañang said it has no information yet on the whereabouts of Vice President Sara Duterte, adding that she has yet to seek for a new travel authority for her supposed trip to Kuwait.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a briefing in India on Wednesday, Aug. 6 that information from the Office of the Executive Secretary showed that Duterte's last travel authority ended on July 28.
"Sa ngayon ay wala po tayong impormasyon (As of now, we have no information)," Castro said when asked if the Palace is aware of the vice president's whereabouts.
"Tinawagan po natin ang Office of the Executive Secretary, sa ating pagkakaalam at sa ating ibinigay, ang pinakahuling travel authority na binigay sa kanya ay simula July 5 hanggang July 28 kung saan po siya nag-travel papuntang the Netherands at South Korea (We contacted the Office of the Executive Secretary, and based on what we know and what was provided to us, the most recent travel authority granted to her was from July 5 to July 28, during which she traveled to the Netherlands and South Korea)," Castro added.
The Palace official also said that they are aware that the vice president was planning to go to Kuwait. However, at present, she has yet to request for a new travel authority for it.
We have heard reports—and this was also asked of us—that the Vice President is allegedly planning to go to Kuwait on August 8, but as we speak, no request for travel authority has yet been filed by the Vice President for the said trip)," Castro said.
'Do your job'
While Castro maintained that Marcos is distancing himself from the impeachment complaint against Duterte, she urged Senators to do their job according to the law and the process.
For the senators, they just need to do their job, and if anyone needs to be held accountable, then they should be held accountable. Once again, the fate of this impeachment trial is now in the hands of the senators)," Castro said.
So, it’s really best—and this is also what the President wants—to simply follow due process, to follow the law. Whatever the senators believe is appropriate and in line with the legal process we have, that is what they should follow)," Castro added.
Castro once again said that the President respects the decision of the Supreme Court that deemed the impeachment complaint unconstitutional.
The Palace official further said that it would also be better to wait for the final ruling of the Supreme Court.
To our knowledge, a motion for reconsideration has already been filed, so it would probably be better if they wait for the decision and the final ruling of the Supreme Court)," she said.
As for what will happen in the Senate, that is in their hands, and once again, the President will not interfere with whatever work the Senate needs to carry out)," she added.
