“With the way Western Visayas is positioned right now—with the infrastructure, innovations, and demand—we’re well projected to be the HIMS capital,” said Carelon Chief Country Executive Nicki Agcaoili at the recent opening of its new site in Iloilo City.
The Department of Trade and Industry-6 has earlier recognized Carelon as having pushed the growth of the HIMS industry in Western Visayas.
“We are partnering with local government units (and the DTI) not only in Iloilo, but in the surrounding cities as well to develop the talent and support the goal for the HIMS industry,” added Agcaoili.
Carelon Regional Director for External Affairs Judy Murillo and Managing Director Edward Castro noted that its new site at SM Strata is seen to boost its Iloilo workforce to 5,000.
With this, Carelon is optimistic in reaching its target of having 10,000 workers this year for its contact center and clinical nurse operations in Western Visayas and Metro Manila.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas of Roxas City in Capiz province disclosed meeting Carelon executives led by Murillo and DTI-6 Regional Director Rachel Nufable.
“Ang Carelon interesado nga magbutang sang call center sa Roxas City (Carelon is interested in setting up a call center in Roxas City),” said Dadivas in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Dadivas said the city government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is coordinating with Carelon for possible recruitment, training, and talent pooling.
