CEBU CITY – A job-order worker of the Cebu City Hall was gunned down in what police suspected as a crime of passion in Barangay Suba here on Monday night, Aug. 4.
Roldan Delima Minguito, 46, was shot at close range in the head inside his house past 8:15 p.m.
Police said the victim had just arrived home when a man broke into his house and shot him in front of his son.
The gunman fled on a motorcycle.
Relatives told police that the victim had received threats before the killing happened.
Police are looking into the possibility that a love triangle could be the motive of the crime after relatives disclosed that the victim had an affair with a married woman.
Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, deputy city director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office, said the woman’s husband is now considered a person of interest.
Macatangay said some personalities who were invited for questioning pointed to the woman’s husband as the possible suspect.
A hot-pursuit operation was conducted but the husband and his wife who was suspected of having an affair with the victim was longer in their home when police arrived.
