8% increase in passenger arrivals during first half of 2025 -- BI
There had been an almost eight percent increase in passenger arrivals during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Monday, July 28.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado said the BI processed 7,840,728 arrivals in the country’s ports and airports from January to June this year.
Viado said the number is almost eight percent more than the 7,268,465 arrivals that the BI processed during the same period in 2024.
The top passenger arrivals came from the United States with 753,544; 745,623 from South Korea; 256,776 from Japan; 229,915 from China; and 188,082 from Australia, he also said.
“This steady growth is proof that the Philippines remains a top destination in the region,” he added.
