A Spaniard, who allegedly mistreated his Filipina live-in partner, has been arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado identified the foreigner as Pablo Escudero Pardo, 58.
Viado said he ordered the arrest of Pardo in his residence in Barangay Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City based on the complaint filed by the live-in partner.
After his arrest, Pardo was found to be an overstaying alien whose visa expired in 2021.
Pardo is now detained at the BI’s facility in Taguig City pending his deportation.
“Foreign nationals who commit abuses will be dealt with accordingly under the law,” Viado assured.
