"Ngayon tinatanong ko sa ating kalihim ng DSWD kung handa na tayo sa Crising, mukha namang ready na tayo—lahat ng warehouse ng DSWD, lalo na dito sa Luzon; especially up to northern Luzon (Now I asked our secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development if we are ready for Crising, it seems we are—all DSWD warehouses, especially here in Luzon, particularly in northern Luzon, are prepared)," Marcos said.
The President also said that in case the typhoon gets stronger, the government is prepared.
"Although meron nang humingi ng tulong sa Region 7, mabuti na lang may ganito rin tayo sa Cebu, ganyan na ganyang halos pareho na makinarya at sila ay ginagawa rin nila kaya naka-ready naman tayo sa kung ano pang mangyari. Sana hindi na lumakas yung bagyo pero sakaling lalakas pa naka-ready naman tayo (Although Region 7 has already asked for assistance, it’s good that we also have a similar setup in Cebu, with almost identical machinery. They’re also doing the same preparations, so we are ready for whatever may come. Hopefully, the storm doesn’t get stronger, but in case it does, we’re prepared)," Marcos said.
Marcos made the statement during his visit at DSWD-National Resource Operations Center in Pasay City on Friday, July 18, where he inspected the packaging of food packs for distribution to affected areas of typhoon Crising.
According to him, there are around three million relief packs in storage that are up for distribution to affected families.
As of 11 a.m. on Friday, "Crising" continued to intensify as it moves west-northwestward and may reach Severe Tropical Storm category before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday, July 19.
