Gomez confirmed on Tuesday, July 15, that he indeed made the directive.
"I confirm that. It's part of the standard transition process to request the courtesy resignations of all political appointees," Gomez said.
This came after he bared that he will be undertaking a performance audit of the entire agency.
He said he has yet to place a new set of officers within the PCO, citing the need to conduct an audit first.
“I need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness and unbiased performance audit of the office,” the Communications chief said.
He did not set a timeline for the assessment, but he said it was “very urgent.”
Gomez assumed the post, replacing former PCO chief Jay Ruiz. He is the fifth press secretary under Marcos' term.
