President Marcos has approved the proposed P6.793-trillion national budget for fiscal year 2026, Malacañang announced on Tuesday, July 15.

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro disclosed that Marcos approved the proposed national budget during a Cabinet meeting at the Malacañan Palace on Tuesday morning.
Castro said the proposed budget reflects the administration's commitment to enhancing the quality of education and improving the lives of every Filipino.
“Sa layuning mapataas ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa Pilipinas at pagaanin ang pamumuhay ng mga Pilipino, inaprubahan ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang P6.793 trillion proposed budget para sa susunod na taon (With the aim of improving the quality of education in the Philippines and easing the lives of Filipinos, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the proposed P6.793 trillion national budget for the coming year)," Castro announced in a Palace briefing.
The President stressed that the 2026 budget must not only drive economic growth but more importantly uplift the quality of life of all Filipinos, Castro also said.
“Sa ilalim ng Marcos administration, mahalaga ang kapakanan ng bawat isa at ang kinabukasan ng taumbayan tungo sa mas progresibo at maunlad na bagong Pilipinas (Under the Marcos administration, the welfare of every individual and the future of the Filipino people are of utmost importance in building a more progressive and prosperous bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines), ” Castro said.
According to Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, the proposed national budget is equivalent to 22 percent of GDP (gross domestic product) and higher by 7.4 percent from the 2025 budget of P6.326 trillion.
