CEBU CITY – The Brembo Southeast Asia Customer Conference kicked off in Lapu-Lapu City on Tuesday, July 15, the first time that the annual event is hosted by the country.
Brembo, a renowned Italian brake systems manufacturer, gathered regional distributors and leadership team in Cebu to present and discuss the company's latest innovations, market dynamics, and future strategies.
Among the issues that will be tackled in the conference is a key challenge facing the aftermarket industry – counterfeit parts.
“Counterfeit parts do so much harm,” said Valerie Bangayan, director at BSB Junrose, one of Brembo’s major partners in Southeast Asia. “Make sure your brakes work when they need to work. That’s why we’re committed to supporting, educating, and growing with our partners, whether through better product access, training support for workshops, or deeper dealer engagement.”
Last year’s conference was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Around 100 participants have signed for this year’s event.
“For Brembo to hold its first conference here reflects how much the brand believes in Asia and the Philippines in general,” said Bangayan.
Bangayan added that bringing the conference to the Philippines highlights the need for continued education and alignment on bringing premium, safe brake systems to Filipino motorists.
The conference aims to strengthen Brembo’s ties with distributors and reaffirms its focus on Asia’s growing automotive aftermarket.
“For us, this event is not just about showcasing products. It’s about building long-term relationships that elevate the entire aftermarket ecosystem in the Philippines,” Bangayan said.
BSB Junrose partnered with Brembo in 2023, incorporating the Italian brand into its portfolio during its 55th anniversary.
“We’ve seen strong performance in key regions like Metro Manila and Cebu, with brake system sales showing momentum. Our consistent expansion is driven by product trust and a loyal network of mechanics and dealers,” Bangayan said.
