NBI asks other victims of 3 detained robbery suspects to come forward
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday, July 14, urged victims of three detained robbery suspects who killed a driver of a transportation network vehicle service (TNVS) to come forward and file criminal complaints against them.
NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago said the victims may appear before his office to identify the suspects so that other crimes committed by them may be resolved.
Santiago presented before the media the three suspects who were identified as Justin Dalaful and siblings John Kevin and Arvin de Ocampo. They were turned over to the NBI after they surrendered to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.
The three suspects are now undergoing preliminary investigation before the Department of Justice (DOJ) for robbery with homicide over the killing of TNVS driver Raymond Cabrera who picked them as passengers in Paranaque City on May 18.
The NBI said that during its investigation, lawyer Joseph Eufemio S. Martinez, the NBI National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) agent on the case, said they were able to establish that the three suspects are engaged in robberies.
“May isang taon o mahigit na nilang ginagawa ang panghohold-up (They have been doing robberies for around a year),” Martinez said.
Meanwhile, the NBI said it has recovered the possible remains of Cabrera in Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija.
After their surrender, the suspects also informed the NBI of the exact location of Cabrera’s remains.
Santiago said the NBI will conduct a forensic examination of the remains to make sure they belong to Cabrera.
