ILOILO CITY – The police and military arrested one of the most wanted New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Western Visayas region.
Dario was captured last July 11 in Miag-ao town, southern Iloilo province by the Police Regional Office-6 and 3rd Infantry Division (ID) of the Philippine Army.
The 66-year-old rebel from Tubungan town, Iloilo had a P500,000 bounty for his arrest for frustrated murder in 2015, attempted murder in 2015, and robbery with serious physical injury in 2019.
The PRO-6 lauded the arrest of Dario spearheaded by the Tubungan Municipal Station (MPS).
“I commend operating teams for the successful arrest of one of the region’s most wanted individuals. This person has been evading the law for a long time and posed a serious threat to public safety,” said PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan.
“This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication, teamwork, and strong coordination among PRO-6 and our partner agencies,” said Ligan.
