President Marcos reaffirmed the national government’s support for all local government units (LGUs) regardless of political affiliation, saying public service must rise above partisanship.

“Walang kulay ng politika ang paglilingkod sa bayan (There is no political color in serving the nation),” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a press briefing on Thursday, July 10.

The dialogue, held in Pasay City, was attended by LGU leaders from various parts of the country. According to Castro, the gathering underscored the President’s commitment to inclusive governance under the administration’s Bagong Pilipinas campaign.

“Sa Pangulo, aksyon ang kailangan, hindi pamumulitika (For the President, what matters is action, not politicking),” she said.

The Palace Press Officer added that Marcos assured LGU leaders of continued national assistance in delivering essential services such as healthcare, disaster response, education, and agriculture, stressing the need for a strong partnership between national and local governments.

She added that the meeting was a reminder that shared responsibility and patriotism must guide the country’s leaders.

“Hindi malilihis sa tamang landas ang bayan kapag ang pundasyong serbisyo ay pagtutulungan ng lahat at pagmamahal sa bayan (The country will not stray from the right path if our foundation is cooperation and love of country),” she said, citing President Marcos.

Over the weekend, President Marcos emphasized that his administration’s whole-of-government approach relies on empowering LGUs as frontliners in public service and as key implementers of national priorities in the provinces and communities.

In his recent vlog, the President congratulated the new officials who recently took their oaths of office and urged them to view their mandates as an opportunity to work with Malacañang in addressing the people’s everyday concerns.

“Tapos na po ang bahagi ng politika. Serbisyo publika na ang haharapin niyo ngayon (The political phase is over. What you will now face is public service),” he said.

“Malaking bahagi ang LGU sa paghahatid namin ng serbisyo sa taong bayan (The LGU plays a big role in our delivery of services to the public),” he added.
