About P8 million worth of alleged counterfeit products were seized by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during a raid of an establishment in Pasay City.
In a statement, the NBI said the suspected counterfeit products were seized last July 3 during the operation conducted by the agents of NBI’s National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) and Intellectual Property Rights Division (NBI-IPRD).
The NBI did not say if the owner or operator of the establishment was arrested during the raid.
It said the operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of a total of 9,093 pieces of various counterfeit products, all bearing the trademarks “Johnson's,” “Johnson's Baby,” and “Aveeno,” which are registered trademarks of Kenvue, Inc.,
Also seized were “Cetaphil” and “Cetaphil Gentle Clear” which are registered trademarks of Galderma HOLDINGS SA, and various business documents including other pieces of evidence, it added.
With the seizure, the NBI reminded the public to refrain from patronizing pirated products to protect the intellectual property rights of registered owners and to enhance economic growth.
