CEBU CITY – A vintage bomb weighing 1,000 pounds was found in a construction site in Barangay Tinago here on Tuesday morning, July 8.
The vintage bomb was found while backhoe operator Eric Bacus, 46, was digging inside the compound of the Commission on Audit-Central Visayas (COA-7).
Following the discovery, personnel of COA-7 sought assistance from Police Patrolmen Joseph Caṅarejo and Mark Jason Delima who deployed near the area.
Personnel from the Regional Explosives and Canine Unit (RECU-7), led by Police Lt. Joel Taboada, responded and extracted of the vintage bomb.
The area was later declared safe after the vintage bomb was recovered.
