The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is planning to put up its academy in Alfonso, Cavite where applicants and incumbent personnel can train and retrain on various investigative and intelligence work.
The NBI has an academy in Baguio City but it is “too small” for the needs of the bureau, said Director Jaime B. Santiago.
Santiago said he has visited Alfonso Mayor Randy Salamat to discuss the possibility of putting up the bureau’s academy in the town.
He said the mayor was very receptive and assured the town’s cooperation with the NBI.
At the same time, Santiago said he visited the town of Lian and Nasugbu in Batangas where NBI’s satellite offices will be put up.
He said Lian Mayor Joseph Peji and Nasugbu Mayor Antonio Barcelon have promised to provide the office space as well as the computers and internet connection for the satellite offices.
