Suspected bomb maker of Daulah Islamiya group arrested in Cotabato City
An alleged bomb maker, who is known as a member of the terrorist group Daulah Islamiya-Hassan, has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Cotabato City.
The NBI identified the suspect as Lutre Aman, who was apprehended last June 19 on arrest warrants issued by the regional trial courts (RTCs) for various criminal cases.
It said that Aman was responsible for the bombing of a bus in January 2021 in Tulunan, North Cotabato. The bombing resulted in the death of a fruit vendor and wounding of many others, it also said.
Additionally, the NBI said that Aman was responsible for the burning of another bus in June 2021 in Miang, Cotabato.
It said that two branches of the RTC have issued arrest warrants against Aman for murder, multiple frustrated murder, and destructive arson.
It also said the operation was conducted against Aman after it received information that he was sighted in Cotabato City.
