A suspected illegal drugs trader has been arrested and P416,000 worth of shabu has been seized in Davao City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Friday, June 27.
The NBI identified the suspect as Jhonny Improk Tilican, 44, who was arrested last June 26 in Barangay Mandug during a joint operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation-Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI SEMRO XI) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region XI-Regional Special Enforcement Team.
In a statement, the NBI said that confiscated from Tilican were 52 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P416,000.
It said that Tilican will be charged with selling and possessing illegal drugs in violations of Section 5 and Section 11 of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
It also said the operation was in line with the directives of NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago “to intensify the fight against illegal drugs.”
