Suspected illegal drugs trader nabbed in Cebu City; minor girl rescued
A suspected illegal drugs trader has been arrested while a 15-year-old girl he allegedly used for his criminal activities has been rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Cebu City.
The NBI identified the arrested suspect as Alvin T. Plando, 37, who was apprehended last June 17 during a buy-bust operation conducted by the NBI Cebu District Office (NBI-CEBDO) at his residence in Sitio Manga in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
“The operation resulted in the seizure of a large volume of suspected illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, tools, and implements,” the NBI said.
It also said the teen-aged girl was found inside the residence and is believed to have been used as an accomplice in the repacking and distribution of illegal drugs.
Plando has been charged with violations of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office, it added.
