Malacañang told lawyer Harry Roque to wait and see after he questioned the government's intelligence report about his whereabouts.
PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro | Harry Roque
“Kung ang sinasabi po niya (If he is saying), come and get me; ayon naman po sa ating pamahalaan (our government says), wait and see,” Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in briefing on Friday, June 20.
Castro said the Department of Justice (DOJ) is just waiting for the formal notice in relation to Roque's asylum.
She also told the former presidential spokesperson not to undermine the DOJ's intelligence, and not reduce their assets to mere rumormongers.
“Huwag niya pong ipagsawalang-bahala ang intelligence, ang assets po ng DOJ at hindi naman po namin iti-telegraph ang mga punches ng gobyerno katulad ng kaniyang ginagawa (Do not disregard the intelligence and the assets of the DOJ, and unlike what he is doing, we will not telegraph the government's punches),” Castro said.
The DOJ on Wednesday reported that Roque was believed to be seeking refuge in Germany after the Netherlands denied his asylum bid.
Roque is facing a qualified human trafficking case and was issued an arrest warrant by the Regional Trial Court in Angeles, Pampanga.
