TNVS driver charged with robbery, rape of lady passenger -- NBI
Criminal charges have been filed before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver who allegedly robbed and raped his female passenger.
The suspect, who was presented to the media on Thursday, June 19, by National Bureau of Investigation National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) Director Ferdinand Lavin, was identified as Michael Lou D. Reuyan.
Lavin said that charges of robbery with rape have been filed against Reuyan before the DOJ.
He said that Reuyan was arrested during a hot pursuit operation last Jun 16 at the residence of his employer in Cainta, Rizal.
He then urged persons who may have been victimized by Reuyan to come forward and file complaints.
Lavin said that the complainant told the NBI that she booked the car driven by the suspect using a ride-hailing application last June 15 when she was in the southern part of Metro Manila.
He said it was fortunate that the victim sent her sister the details of the booking which helped NBI agents locate the vehicle.
He added that the victims said she fell asleep during the drive and, when she woke up, she found the suspect on top of her.
Fortunately, the woman managed to get out of the vehicle and escape, he also said.
“Subject Reuyan was able to snatch the bag of the Victim, which contained an iPhone 16 and other personal belongings. Subject Reuyan also forcibly took away the necklace from the victim, valued at P35,000,” Lavin said.
